Great news, Applied Innovations expanded our services to include a new class of economical Cloud Servers! While we have offered highly available, managed Clustered Cloud Servers for over four years, on top of the Windows Server platform; the new Cloud Servers are built on top of Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V and leverage the increased scale/performance of the operating system and today’s latest hardware. This effort is designed to deliver an extremely cost-effective cloud hosting option.
When we asked how the new offering differs from the Clustered Cloud Servers, Wayne Lansdowne, Chief Systems Architect stated “Applied Innovations has always strived to blaze a trail for the industry with Hyper-V based Cloud servers and our new offering does just that”. Lansdowne went on to say “We’re leveraging cutting edge technology, innovation and the economies of scale to deliver increased scale, performance and economic benefit to our customers.”
The new Cloud Server offering is built on SuperMicro Enterprise Class Server hardware with redundant power supplies for increased reliability, the latest generation Intel Xeon E5 processors, ultra-fast RAID-10 storage with dedicated SSD cache drives to deliver phenomenal performance. The RAID-10 storage utilized leverages fast, high-capacity SSDs to automatically cache “hot” data, as the most frequently accessed data is served from SSDs. This reduces over all I/O latency and accelerates performance significantly.
Additional Cloud Server features include: fast gigabit network connectivity with a dedicated per-server VLAN that provides security and isolation as well as available true “private” network capabilities, support for Windows 2003, 2008 R2 and 2012 operating systems and includes 20GB of R1soft CDP Enterprise Server Backup.
