Take video. It’s all around us. Every day, we are inundated with examples ranging from dreadful to pedestrian to inspired. I find myself taking videos unintentionally all the time, accidentally hitting the slider on my iPhone… sometimes with marvelous results. And for years, we’ve all be reading about the opportunities for engagement and SEO with video content. But how many of you have really taken that to heart and made it work for you?
For some reason, video for SEO has risen to the top of my mindshare the past week, and I thought I’d share some of the articles that I found fascinating this past month.
MediaPost’s VidBlog: Social Video Views Grows 37% in 2011, by Daisy Whitney
Building Links with Video Content by Jacob Klein for SEOMoz
Edgario Nazario for Website Magazine on 5 Tips to Improve Your Web Video Strategy
YouTube Killed the TV Star: Why Online Video Marketing is Essential for Marketers in 2012 by Mike Lewis for Socialnomics
What’s it all add up to? A ton of reasons why we should all be using video in our marketing mix to engage, capture and entertain, as well as grab the maximum visibility with search engines.
Editor’s Note: One more article that we thought you’d find interesting popped up just before we published this newsletter, MediaPost News reports Americans Watch Billions of Video Ads Monthly. Just more fodder for the argument.
